swot analysis

S- strengths
Synergy between South downs college and literary festival.  The college has English literature students.

W- weaknesses
Books arent of interest of young people usually, so it may be hard to market.

O- opportunities
The book swap event is very economical. Exchanging books saves money and this is a key element to students and this would attract them.

T- target audience
Target audience is college students who will be spending time at college where there will be advertising.

Target audience info

For our target audience we have decided to base our marketing material at teenagers. The age range for our target audience will be 16-19 Years of age. Our idea is try and get teenagers of the streets who don't have anything to do, and back into reading. We are going to be marketing it in a style that will appeal to teenagers. By using posters that will attract the attention of a teenager, we are going to use a street styled poster with graffiti and colour that will attract there attention.

We are hoping that teenagers will pay attention to our poster and be interested in attending the Havant literacy festival. We are not expecting them to be reading 500page books but something that interests them like a short 50-100page book that can help them into a job role. Such as mechanics for dummies which can help them understand the job role, how to enter it, and what the job may teach them. So by reading these books not only are they gaining knowledge on a job they may be interested, they are also finding out how to enter the job the role and what is required of them.

For the gender we are hoping to appeal to both male and female teenagers. We will have two different posters one aiming at male and the other female.

We are going to aim our marketing campaign at teenagers located at South downs College and the surrounding area.
As we can then find out more about them as they may have similar interests to us. Which could be going Going out with friends, Clubbing, Cinema, music, sports, learning to drive or driving, festivals. We are going to consider our interests and then think of interests we haven't listed, that other people like or do.
